Change The Key is designed to help you work out the notes in different musical keys.
There are five parts:
Quick change – Pick a starting note and the number of semitones to move (up or down). The new note is displayed.
Key change – Pick a starting note, an original key and a final key. The key signature for the original and final keys are shown, as well as the number of semitones up/down and the equivalent note in the new key.
Instrument notes – This is used to do a quick note transposition between musical instruments. Pick a starting note and an original and final pitch from B flat, Concert pitch, E flat or F. The new note is displayed.
Instrument keys – This is used to transpose musical keys for different instruments. Pick a key and an original and final pitch (B flat, Concert, E flat or F). The key signature of the original and final keys are shown, along with the new key.
Scales – Use this to see the notes in each scale. Choose a key and a scale from Major, Harmonic or Melodic Minor, Whole Tone, Major or Minor Pentatonic or Blues. Please note that theoretical scales (those with double sharps or flats) are not displayed.
